Rebloom

This piece explores what it means to move through a world that never slows down while finding a connection that makes everything else fade. In chaos, there is stillness. In motion, there is meaning. Rooted in the idea that love isn't something we fall into, but something we grow through, this work highlights the tension between distraction and presence, and what happens when two people truly see each other. Through musicality, storytelling, and emotional connection, the dancers explore contrast: stillness and chaos, strength and vulnerability, while building confidence, intention, and unity as a group.

This piece is my first choreography, and it's built on confidence, individuality, and strength. I challenged these dancers to not only learn the movement, but to bring themselves into it. Because at the end of the day, it's not about perfection. It's about showing up, pushing through, and knowing you're capable of more than you think.

A playful and empowering introduction to pole, this beginner routine celebrates strength, confidence, and self-expression. Dancers have spent the past weeks building a foundation of fundamental skills: spins, transitions, and floorwork, while learning to move with intention and musicality.

Alright, beautiful people, welcome back to Rebloom. I'm your host, Bryan Solano-Reyes, and I've been told I need to keep this blurb "charming and funny." So no pressure. Next up: a ladies salsa piece to Guarare by the legendary Ray Barretto. Choreographed by the dream team of Sada Valasquez, Henry Rodriguez, and… oh yeah, me. Which means this routine was created by my significant other (and studio owner), my best friend, and yours truly. Three people who have definitely shared a group chat that nearly ended a friendship. But look, we survived, and more importantly, these incredible dancers have been training for weeks to bloom in their own skin, own the stage, and prove that salsa isn't just about the steps. It's about the sass. So give it up for this fierce, flower-powered cast, because nothing says "rebirth" like a heel turn and a perfect cue. Hit it.

Three friends, one passion, and a stage full of memories. This trio dance is a celebration of friendship, creativity, and the joy that comes from dancing together. Through every count, laugh, and movement, they showcase the bond they share both on and off the floor. Their performance blends energy, personality, and teamwork into a fun and heartfelt routine that reflects their love for dance and the connection that makes their friendship so special.

I want to push myself into being the best pole dancer I know I can be. Pole helped me gain my confidence and makes me feel happy, even when it hurts.

This next piece is choreographed by MoMo Hobson: a dancer, choreographer, and heels instructor. She teaches heels classes all around Massachusetts and Rhode Island, a journey that started right here at In Your Skin Studio. This performance program focused on fast-paced training with limited rehearsals, and every dancer rose to the challenge. They showed up ready to work and gave their all. MoMo is incredibly proud of this cast and excited for you all to experience the piece. Give it up for "Did It Again."

This piece started as a leap into the unknown. When these students signed up, they had no idea what I had planned for them, and honestly, neither did I at first. What unfolded was a process that pushed everyone far outside their comfort zones and demanded trust, resilience, and commitment every step of the way. They stayed late. They worked hard. They rose to every challenge I placed in front of them and continuously stepped up to the plate with determination, courage, and heart. Throughout this process, they've also displayed incredible care for one another, leadership, and a true sense of community that embodies everything I hope to cultivate within this space. This performance holds a special place for me personally. The style and connection explored throughout this piece have played a major role in my own history and evolution as a pole dancer, and it has been incredibly meaningful to share that experience and creative process with my students in this way. What you're about to see is the result of vulnerability, teamwork, grit, trust, and the magic that can happen when people fully show up for one another.

I love burlesque and hairography and storytelling through performance. I've had the pleasure of teaching both hairography and acting for dancers workshops at IYS, and the community there is incredible. I'm so thrilled to be bringing a little tease to the showcase.

This piece is about that transition from girlhood to womanhood with the help of friends. It evokes that feeling of making dances in our rooms at sleepovers, with the ferocity of the people we are now. It reminds us that we are exactly where we prayed (or manifested) when we were younger.

Our Afro-Fusion dance class every Thursday at 8:15 PM brings together people of all skill levels to share joy, build confidence, stay fit, and create a safe space through dance. Tonight's performance features dancers of all levels. For some, this year was their very first time dancing. But together, we're bringing you something unforgettable. If you feel the heat tonight, make some noise. Are you ready?

Stevie's practice is grounded in the belief that intentional movement can be both healing and subversive. Practicing radical self-expression is a form of resistance. She is passionate about honoring pole dance's roots in sex work and keeping that lineage visible, respected, and centered. Stevie teaches at multiple pole studios in the area. Her mission as an instructor is to provide a safe, supportive environment for students to build strength, connect with their sensuality, and have fun. When she's not on the pole, Stevie is either reading a banned book, riding her motorcycle, or at a local drag show.

The contemporary dancers of In Your Skin are a diverse group of movement artists. Led every Monday by Sam King, they explore movement through emotion-filled dance. They tap into joy, pain, strength, and countless other feelings to create and grow in their art. This piece celebrates growth, power, and the excitement of starting again.
